Tui

Tui charms visitors with its medieval old town, the Cathedral of Santa María and the views of the River Miño, right on the border with Portugal.

Tui is one of the most charming towns in southern Galicia, situated on the banks of the River Miño and close to the border with Portugal. Its medieval old town, designated a Historic-Artistic Site, invites visitors to stroll through its cobbled streets, which transport them back in time. The town’s most iconic landmark is the Cathedral of Santa María de Tui, an impressive cathedral-fortress which, in addition to its artistic significance, offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Tui is also a key stop on the Portuguese Way of St James, and as such maintains close ties with the tradition of pilgrimage.
