Muxía is a municipality on the Costa da Morte, in the province of A Coruña (Galicia), situated at the western tip of the Barbanza peninsula and facing the Atlantic Ocean. Its coastline is characterised by cliffs, beaches and a strong maritime character. Historically, it has been linked to fishing and seafaring, as well as forming part of the pilgrimage routes to Fisterra and Muxía. One of its best-known landmarks is the Santuario da Virxe da Barca, situated by the sea, associated with religious traditions and local legends.
