Ferreira

Ferreira captivates with its historic Roman bridge—a haven of peace and stone where water and nature envelop the pilgrim on the Camino.

This place is defined primarily by its single-arch medieval bridge spanning the Ferreira River. Today, this might seem like a minor detail, but at the time of its construction, the ability to safely cross river channels like this one was of vital importance. Consequently, over time, many such places came to be known solely by these structures—as is the case with A Ponte Ferreira.
