Colunga

Colunga

The small town of Colunga, set against the backdrop of the Sierra de Sueves, boasts some of the most beautiful spots along the Camino that crosses Asturias.

The municipality's greatest landmark is the nearby town of Lastres, considered one of the most beautiful in Spain, with its colorful houses cascading down a precipitous hillside overlooking the Cantabrian Sea. Colunga is also renowned for its prehistoric past; at La Griega Beach, one can see some of the largest dinosaur footprints in the world.
