The route taken today involves a gradual descent leading to one of the seven historic capitals of the ancient Kingdom of Galicia. We make our way past small settlements consisting of just a few houses, always surrounded by green meadows—most of which are used for livestock farming, the area's economic engine. The woodlands consist primarily of chestnut and oak trees.
