Mar de Fora Beach

Mar de Fora Beach

Mar de Fóra Beach, which opens out onto the Atlantic, is notable for its strong waves, dunes and views of Cape Fisterra on the Costa da Morte.
Mar de Fóra Beach, in Fisterra (Costa da Morte), is known for being one of the most exposed beaches on the westernmost tip of Galicia, opening directly onto the Atlantic with no protection from coves. This results in strong swells and intense currents for much of the year. It stands out in the area for its wild landscape and its contrast with other, more sheltered nearby beaches, showcasing the rugged character of the Costa da Morte. Its rocky surroundings and total exposure to the ocean make it a clear example of the most extreme stretch of the Atlantic coastline in Fisterra.
